Big Ben

So, the first thing I saw when I topped the Tube steps at Westminster was Big Ben – the icon of London. No matter how many times I’d looked at pictures of it – nothing prepared me for its truly large size. Big Ben is…well…big. 🙂 The tower is actually called the ‘Clock Tower’ and the name Big Ben refers to the bell inside the tower. The tower was built in the 1830s by Charles Barry.
