Colin Firth takes on his Darcy persona in the modern-twisted version of Pride and Prejudice called Bridget Jones’ Diary. Based on the 1996 novel by Helen Fielding, Bridget Jones’ Diary seems to be a loose retelling at best. There are cute parts, but of course, Firth is the cutest – and still gets to be a good guy. No wet shirt scenes, I’m afraid, but he’s almost as easy to fall in love with in 2001 as he is in 1995.
