One of the most common phrases my granny would say when asked, “What have you been doing today?” was “Oh, I’ve just been piddlin”. Have you ever heard (or used) that phrase before?
Around here it means you’ve been doing odds and ends which aren’t much different than anything else. Your usual cleaning or cooking. It gives the connotation of a relaxed sort of day of chores or the regular schedule.
So – have you been piddlin’ today? 🙂
