Lame Blog Day

It’s official. Didn’t you get the note? It’s Lame Blog Post Day. I think it might be next week too. And the following week? 🙂

Life is busy. Always. With lots going on…but, that also brings with it lots of ideas for stories, and particularly characters.

So – today, I’m taking the Lame Blog Post Day and sharing some recent pics of my family. Just because I like ’em. And they’re LOTS cuter than any character I’ve ever written.

Mostly.

To the right is a good pic of my fourth – Samuel, with his fabulous smile.

And here to the left is Phoebe. My youngest, and easygoing. I guess that’s what she gets for being the bottom of the Basham pile. But, oh my goodness, she sure is a sweetie.

Birth order does matter. Remember that when you’re writing. Personalities are shaped by a child’s enviroment, and that includes where they fit into the grand scheme of their families. To the right are my second & third kids, determination firmly planted on their faces. Their mission? Shoot anyone who is floating by. Very fun. Very focused. and VERY WET.

My oldest and middle are in the next picture with their dad. We’re entering the teenage years with our firstborn and, boy, do the dynamics change. It’s difficult to understand it until you’re living it though. He’s a great kid – obviously getting tall (and quite proud of it), but the relationship is changing in new ways.

And to the right is a picture of my three youngest, enjoying life as kids. Sigh. Lovely, isn’t it?

So, ever have a lame blog day…or two….or ten? At least mine has cute pictures. 🙂

Thanks, Edwina. They are such blessings – and yes, I can already see how quickly time is flying. There such a bittersweetness to it, isn’t there?

Aw, Pepper, they’re so cute! Of course, your older kids would probably hate hearing that statement. 🙂 The picture of your youngest is priceless.

What a beautiful family, Pepper! Your oldest son reminds me of my 14 year old. He’s now 5 ft 11 in, just a couple of inches shorter than his dad. All long legs and arms – like an unruly horse, banging into things, knocking things over. So klutzy because his limbs grew so much so fast. Funny!

The years just fly by, don’t they? Thanks for sharing your precious photos!
