As usual Robin Lee Hatcher mixes excitement and humor to blend a lovely romance.

There are a WHOLE LOT of secrets going on in Bethlehem Springs.

Daphne McKinley is perfectly satisfied in the little town of Bethlehem Springs. She can dote on her niece and nephew, enjoy the benefits of her family’s prosperity, and feel the satisfaction of her own independence. But Daphne is also harboring a secret. Tucked away on her bookself is a series of dime-store novels written by the mysterious D.B. Morgan. No one knows the identity of this author except Daphne, and she’s not telling.

Joshua Crawford is determined to discover who maligned his grandfather’s good reputation.  His grandfather could never have done all the horrible things D. B. Morgan accuses him of in those dispicable novels. A gambler? Womanizer? Crooked judge?

Armed with determination fueled by anger, Joshua leaves the East to travel out the Bethlehem Springs and confront the notorious D.B. Morgan. Taking up a job as manager of the local newspaper, Joshua is surprised that no one knows who D.B. Morgan is, let alone where to find him. The last thing he needs is the lovely Daphne McKinley distracting him from his mission, but something about her confidence and wit holds his attention and entangles his heart.

He can’t get away from her, literally, when they get trapped in an abandoned cabin during a snow storm. Then he realizes, he never wants to get away from her, in fact ’til death do us part’ sounds like a really good ending to this story, but how can Joshua ever confess his feelings when his parents expect him to marry a close family friend.

And when he discovers the identity of D.B. Morgan and the truth about his own grandfather, how will he choose his own ending?  Will the goodness in his character overcome the bitterness in his own heart? Will Daphne be able to give Joshua her love when she thinks he belongs to another woman?

Oh me, oh my – pick up this book to find out. As usual, Robin’s books are filled with adventure and wonderful romance. This is a great ending to her Sisters of Bethlehem Springs series. 

I always enjoy her heroes so much because they are memorable gentlemen with endearing vulnerability. Joshua Crawford is no exception.

Fit to Be Tied, the second book in the series, is still my favorite. I’m a BIG TIME Woody fan 🙂 So if you haven’t read it yet, don’t delay. It’s wonderfully sweet and funny.
