A few more pictures of the Banqueting Hall

While we visited England I learned something about deer in the country. Being a born & bred Appalachian girl, I was used to seeing antlers displayed in a home – one of my dad’s favorite pasttimes. The interesting thing in England, though, is that the deer are owned. In the U.S., deer roam freely about the land and if they happen across your property during hunting season…well, it’s the deer’s loss and our family’s gain, but in England herds of deer are owned by the landowners. That was a new concept to me.

On a different note, I always envision Jane Eyre and Adele peeking down on Mr. Rochester and his party guests when I view the picture of the ‘gallery’. The newest movie version of Jane Eyre was filmed almost entirely at Haddon Hall.
